Last week, a talk was published by OT cybersecurity expert Rob King on how to analyze and identify equipment in OT networks, key concepts of OT networking, and some very useful advice for people looking to start their next career chapter in OT cybersecurity.

If you want to start your career in OT cybersecurity:

🏭 OT hardware (or software) can be expensive and vendor-restricted.

🏭 Consider affordable alternatives like PiPLC (a Raspberry Pi–based PLC) or protocol simulators.

🏭 OT vendors offer training kits; labs and rentals may be more affordable than a full purchase.

🏭 Seek local labs for hands-on practice.

I wish someone had given me those 15 years ago. :)
