Side-channel attacks: use power consumption, electromagnetic emissions, sound, or even tiny photon emissions to extract secrets
Fault injection: disturb voltage, clock, electromagnetic fields, temperature, or use lasers to make a chip spit out the secrets
Chip imaging and reverse engineering: use X-rays, optical microscopes, or electron microscopes to learn chip internals
Microprobing and focused ion beams: directly observe and modify microscopic signals and structures inside a semiconductor

The strongest idea in the talk (for me) is how and why physical possession changes the security model. I lacked this argument in a few very important conversations in my career - donβt repeat my mistakes.
