Fault injection (FI) attacks on RISC-V systems: clock glitching and other types of FI. โก๐ฌโฐ๐ตโ๐ซ๐
Security researcher Remco van Dijk, in his MSc final project, studies how fault injection (FI) attacks - specifically clock glitching - can compromise Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) on embedded RISC-V systems.
One of the interesting parts of the work is a systematic framework for comparing fault injection methods using a multi-metric scoring model. Each FI method is assessed using four challenge metrics:
1๏ธโฃ Ease of use
2๏ธโฃ Cost efficiency
3๏ธโฃ Spatial precision
4๏ธโฃ Temporal precision
Good thesis - practical and with some useful insights. Please share it with your colleagues and peers.
