A group of academic robotics experts and security researchers from Italy and Spain presented their research on cybersecurity challenges in modern robotic systems back in 2021.
As robots become widely used in industries, healthcare, logistics, and homes, they also become vulnerable to cyber-attacks that can impact both digital and physical safety. Literally, compromised robots can cause physical harm.
Even more! Apparently, robots can be great actors of social engineering: they can be unintentionally too convincing - so much so that they can socially hack humans and cause them to perform unsafe or even dangerous actions.
